But what will it look like in California? Rolls-Royce personalisation … – The Sun
IF you’re lucky enough to be able to afford a Rolls-Royce, you want to make sure it looks the part parked outside your driveway.
Choosing a paint that doesn’t quite sparkle in your hometown could be devastating after you’ve splashed out more than £300,000 on a new Phantom.
Fear not, though, as the pros at Rolls-Royce have got you covered with a special gadget that replicates sunlight around the globe in its personalisation studio.
Nick Osy de Zegwaart, bespoke sales manager at Rolls-Royce, said: “What you don’t see in this room is what it’s going to look like at home.”
The unique light has a slider on a map to adjust the rays to mimic Californian coastal sun or the deserts of Dubai.
It’s like applying a real-life Instagram filter to a model of your car – although signing a cheque for £300,000 is more of a commitment than just sharing it on social media.
So for that reason Rolls-Royce offers over 44,000 shades of paint – and if somehow you can’t find one that’s right then they’ll make you up a one-off colour.
In Rolls’ “atelier” you can select a colour from the rows and rows of samples and twin it with a body shape to create the trademark two-tone design.
You can also select custom paintwork like symbols or motifs.
And this attention to detail carries over into the inside where you can select stitching colours, leather patterns and motifs or initials to be embroidered into your interior.
And you don’t have to just use regular leather – Rolls will offer you seats made from alligator, crocodile and even ostrich.
Personalisation doesn’t just stop with the regular items – and it’s on top of the “standard” luxury touches like the starlight rooflining on the new Rolls-Royce Phantom.

In the Rolls-Royce studio you can even personal the umbrellas that come in the boot.
Osy de Zegwaart added: “It’s an expression of oneself.”
